The Magistrates’ Court hears the majority of criminal matters in the State of Victoria.

The Magistrates Court fees structure described below are intended to be a guide.

Bail Application

$1650 – $3300 

Preparation and representation at a contested Bail Application

Guilty Plea

$2200 – $3300 

Preparation and representation at all court appearances up to and including a Plea hearing

Not Guilty Plea

$2200 – $3300 

Preparation and representation at all court appearances up to and including a Contest Mention

$2200 – $4400

Per day fee for representation by either our Principal or a Barrister at a Contested Hearing

Indictable Charges

(These are matters which commence in the Magistrates’ Court
but resolve in the County Court or Supreme Court)

$5500 – $7700 

Preparation, negotiations with the Office of Public Prosecutions and preparation of preliminary court documentation

$1650 – $2750 

Representation up to two Committal Mentions

$1100 – $1650 

Representation at any additional Committal Mentions

$2200 – $4400 

Per day fee for representation at a Committal Hearing or Summary Jurisdiction Application/Plea Hearing
